Somalia: THE FIRST-EVER RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT

 Somalia: The first-ever re-elected president.

Somalia is a post-conflict nation, that has been recovering from 30 years: of political chaos, clan-based violence and terror attacks that hindered both the Socioeconomic and Political Development of the Somali nation. Although the efforts of International Partners had tried to support Somalia to have an effective government, however, their strategy was only focused on a UN and AU backed transitional government. The TFGs did not have the full capacity to prioritize their national agendas and develop strategies and also implement their national plans. This is because of a lack of Officiality to communicate with international bodies and a lack of ability to make their own political decisions.

To overcome these challenges, in 2012, Somalia had its first official government, The First Elections were held in Mogadishu Capital City of Somalia won the First president in the first Official Government after 1991. the elected president was Hassan Sheik Mohamud, one of the leaders of civil Society organizations, and the founder one of educational foundations and charity organizations. He had not been known for his involvement in any politically related activities and wasn't seen before in the political arena.

President Hassan Sheik Mohamud had a lot of national priorities to do and everything was to start from the ground: building strong, effective and accountable public institutions, preparing a draft and completion of the Somali constitution document, building the capacity of quantity and quality of Somali Security forces with aim of liberation under control territories of Al-Shabaab and Overcome Security threats of the terror groups and building federal member states with clear cooperative fiscal federalism means.

His administration was able to reach some of the goals of those national priorities although the challenges were countless. However, in 2017, President HSM left the office in an election won by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo in a democratic way.

RE-ELECTION OF PRESIDENT HASSAN SHEIK MOHAMUD

In 2022, after 5 years, Hassan Sheik Mohamud won an election competing with the outgoing president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo. He was re-elected as the 10th President of Somalia with a second term, Hassan Sheik Mohamud is the first man reelected for the second term in Somalis History, this term he has another opportunity to lead and serve his nation. What's more important is that the president has previous work experiences that could help him do great positive change in Somali development.

In 2022, National Priority Tasks:

-The Completion of the National Constitution- it has been almost 10 years since the draft of the constitution started but it has been reviewed several times but is still not completed. The administration of HSH should finalize the long-awaited document of the constitution and promote the rule of law. It's also important to build a national constitutional Court that is very needed in the country for legal and constitutional interpretations.

- Develop Security Sector Policies, Strategies and priorities- National strategy should develop towards the Liberations of AS under controlled territories, AS control vast areas in South and central Somalia. It is also important to create the close cooperation of public and Police personnel and build public trust and confidence in sharing information, as AS hides in the people's resident’s areas.

-Investments Social sector- Social resources do not reflect the people’s demand for education and health care. In education, it's estimated that only 27 to 30% of school-age children go to school. while almost 3million children aren’t in the school centres. Health Care is also important, free health care that can be accessible by everyone and available everywhere.

-Pan and hold Popular vote- apart from the above task priorities, the administration of the President HSH is expected to hold the first-ever one person and one vote election. This gives citizens the opportunity to exercise their right of voting. It's a very crucial mandate that should be achieved at any cost.
